Installation of a new pump or replacement of an older pump is relatively simple, requiring connection to an electrical circuit to activate a float switch and the pump motor. The main function of the float switch is to ensure the pump only operates when the water level is between an upper and lower level, making sure the pump motor only operates for short periods rather than operating continuously.
