When the air conditioner won’t work properly and the controller shows an error warning code, the first thing we do is reach for the user manual..right? But if we can’t work out what the error code is telling us, there are a couple of things to try first, to see where the fault might lie. First, check the power is still on by checking other appliance circuits or lights to make sure it is not a power supply problem. Secondly check the earth leakage device to make sure it is working normally and hasn’t tripped due to a fault with another appliance. If all seems to be normal, locate the power isolator switch at the outside unit and turn it off. Leave the unit off for about one hour allowing time for the controller memory to reset.

If, after turning the power switch back on, the error code remains, it is likely a problem exists with the controller and should be tested by an Local Air Conditioning Repairs technician to diagnose the fault.
